Dr Bill Wilson, an SNP MSP for the West of Scotland, has called on the Scottish Government to set a limit to pay differentials in publicly funded bodies such as universities and local authorities.  Dr Wilson wants the remuneration of the best-paid staff in such bodies not to exceed that of the worst-paid by a factor of (he suggests) ten.

Speaking after a session of the Equal Opportunities Committee where the Communities Minister announced that the first equality report ever to accompany a draft budget will be presented to Committee Members this afternoon, Committee member Dr Bill Wilson said:
