Dr. Bill Wilson MSP (SNP, West of Scotland) has hit out at irresponsible claims from Labour that up to 5,000 NHS staff could lose their jobs. Dr. Wilson said, “Unfortunately, due to Labour economic mismanagement, the NHS planned expenditure has been cut by £3-billion and as a result The Scottish Government and NHS have been put under severe pressure. However, these ridiculous claims from Labour are unnecessarily worrying NHS staff and are completely hypocritical. |

New figures from the Scottish Government have revealed the staggering scale of revenue costs from Labour’s Public Finance Initiative (PFI). Commenting on the latest figures, showing that in 2008-2009 a total of 5% of Scotland’s local authority education budgets was being drained to pay for PFI revenue costs, Dr Bill Wilson MSP (SNP, West of Scotland) has highlighted the impact this has had on Renfrewshire. |

Dr Bill Wilson MSP (SNP, West of Scotland) has drawn attention to a warning by Save the Children that a 2.5 % increase in VAT from 17.5 to 20% would mean the poorest families would have to pay £1,600 more a year from their already over-stretched yearly budgets. |
